Intended Audience

Bubble Clock is an introduction for youngsters to learn to tell time using an analog clock face with minute and hour hand.

The Game

Bubble Clock Time provides an entertaining learning experience with colorful clocks, bubbles, and audio. It has three modes, corresponding to different skills: Clock-to-Time, Time-to-Clock, and Audio-to-Clock. Within each mode, there are three levels. The first level is limited to whole hours. The second level covers fifteen-minute intervals. The third level covers five-minute intervals.

For the TIme-to-Clock mode, the game begins by displaying a digital time in the twelve-hour range, such as 3:00. Translucent bubbles containing random clock faces, along with the the clock face corresponding to the displayed digital time, float across the screen. A pleasant voice invites the child to touch the bubble matching the time. The correct choice rewards the child with a chime, and a gold star. An incorrect choice triggers a gentle encouragement to try again. Each incorrect selection reduces the set of incorrect choices, eventually leaving only the correct time.

For the Clock-to-Time mode, the game proceeds similarly, but begins with a graphical image of a clock face showing a time and the floating translucent bubbles contain random digital times along with the correct digital representation of the time on the clock face.

The Audio-to-Clock mode begins with a sound clip of a time phrase, and the youngster selects the corresponding floating clock face, without the hint of the digital time. A child can press Buzz, the helpful bee, to hear the sound clip again.
